5k Pirate Treasure your Health - YMCA Alexandria

Arrrgh, Matey!! The YMCA Alexandria is sponsoring it's annual 5k with a new course and a new theme - The 5k Pirate Treasure Your Health Race!! Have an adventure running or walking the fast and flat 3.12 mile route but make it back to the YMCA as fast as you can because the bounty will be plentiful and awards will be given. Post-race activities include music, face painting and more. For our tiniest pirates (ages 2-10) sign up the day of the race for a 50 yard dash with booty for all at the end. Did we mention the free eye patches?? Costumes are encouraged and the best one will win a prize. Don't miss this fun-filled event or you may be forced to walk the plank!

Join in the fun on Saturday October 11, 2014 at 8:00 am.

The race will start and finish at YMCA Alexandria, 420 E. Monroe Avenue, Alexandria, VA.

The cost is $30 and entrants will receive a commemorative uni-sex cotton race t-shirt. Race day registration will be $35. All 10 & Under participants will be FREE. There will also be a Kid’s Dash for ages 10 & Under. Please register for this dash on race day, this event will be free as well.

Packet pick up and late registration will take place on Friday October 10 from noon-8:00 at the Y on Monroe Ave. Race day packet pick up and late registration will be from 6:30-7:45 am at the race site.

YMCA Alexandria provides opportunities for children to attend afterschool and summer day camp programs in an enriching and safe environment. Funds raised from this race will help provide YMCA Alexandria with financial resources to give opportunities to children who otherwise could not participate in much needed YMCA programs.
