Give Peace a Run 5k

St. Ambrose School 

As Mother Teresa once said, “Peace begins with a smile.” What better way to put a smile on your face than come out and join us for the 2nd Annual St. Ambrose School Peace Run! On Saturday, May 2nd, St. Ambrose School of Annandale will be sponsoring a 5k race at Burke Lake Park (7315 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station, VA 22039) to help raise money for our school and to start a scholarship fund in honor of Ana-Maria Cordoba, a warm, compassionate and dedicated parent and parishioner in the St. Ambrose community. Even though our community lost this shining light in the train accident in northern Spain the summer of 2013, her dedication to serving others continues to be an inspiration. So, in addition to supporting our academic programs, we will establish a $2,000 scholarship in her honor to be awarded to a St. Ambrose student that exemplifies her spirit of service.

Give Peace a Run is a great event for the entire family! In addition to the 5k and 1k Fun Run, we will be hosting a mini fair with food, face-painting, balloon animals and much more! Come, join the fun and learn how running can be a family affair! 

The race will start at 8:00 am for all the runners, followed by the walkers at 8:15 and at 9:00 am we will start the family fun run! Click here for the course map!

Awards will be given out to the top three male & female overall finishers and the top male and female finisher in each of the following age groups: 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & Over. 

Registration Fees: 5k race with a shirt is $30 until April 15, then the price goes up to $35. If you choose to run and do not want a t-shirt the fee is $25 until April 15, then will increase to $30. The fun run (including a T-shirt) is $10, then $15 after April 15. 

Packet Pick up will be on Friday, May 1 from 3:30-7:00 at St. Ambrose School (3827 Woodburn Rd, Annandale, VA 22003) and again at Burke Lake on race day morning.
