2015 Born to Run Memorial 5K and Family Fun Run

On Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 8:30 a.m., the Franklin Middle School community will be hosting the 2^nd annual Born to Run Memorial 5K and Family Fun Run in tribute to the enduring spirit of Mrs. Jannine Parisi who lost her life on November 20^th 2013 as a victim of domestic violence. Mrs. Parisi was a well-respected member of the Chantilly community as a parent, teacher, and friend.

Course descriptions:

·        The Born to Run Memorial 5K is a flat course race through the Chantilly Highlands neighborhood with both start and finish lines at Franklin Middle School.

·        The Family Fun Run is a 1K course which will be run exclusively on school grounds.

Mission:

·       Both events aim to encourage family fitness while raising funds to directly benefit the well-being of Franklin students and support charitable causes within the greater Chantilly community.

·       This year, the majority of proceeds will be donated to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Northern Virginia NAMI website.

Registration fees:

Born to Run Memorial 5K

·        $30 through May 10^th

·        $35 from May 11 until online registration closes on June 4^th

·        $40 on Race Day (June 6^th)

Family Fun Run 1K

·        $15 through May 10^th

·        $20 from May 11 through to June 6^th

All participants will receive a commemorative race t-shirt if registered by May 24^th. Those registered after May 24^th will not be guaranteed a t-shirt, so please register early!

Awards:

Born to Run Memorial 5K:

·        Overall male and female

·        Overall male and female from the Chantilly Pyramid

·        Top male and female for age groups 14 & under, 15-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65 & over

Family Fun Run 1K:

 ·        Top girl and boy for age groups 5-7, 8-10, 11-14

 Race Packet Pick-up:

At Franklin Middle School, 3300 Lees Corner Road, Chantilly, VA 20151 on, Friday, June 5^th from 3:00-6:00 p.m and Saturday, June 6th from 7:00-8:00 a.m. (race starts at 8:30 a.m.)
