Come Run with Sprout at Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm in The Broadlands, a subdivision of Ashburn.

Along with WASH-FM join us on Sunday October 26 for the Second Annual Sprout 5k at Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm in Ashburn! The 5k walk/run and 1k Fun Run.

Where: Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm, 42920 Broadlands Blvd, Ashburn, VA 20148. The start and finish line are on the grounds of Clyde's Willow Creek and will follow the certified 5k course through the neighborhood. See course map here. 

When: Sunday, October 26, 2014. The 5k will start at 9:00 am, 1k will start at 9:05 am immediately after the start of the 5k. Both runs will be followed music and great food & drinks provided by Clyde’s. 

Registration Fees: 5k: $30, $20 for students, 1k: $20. Online registration closes on Thursday, October 23. 

                              Race day registration: 5k: $35, $25 for students, 1k: $25 (only cash or check will be accepted on race day) 

Packet Pick-up: Packet pick up will be held at Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm on Friday October 24 from 4:00-7:00 and Saturday October 25 from 1:00-4:00 pm. Stop in to pick up your packet and enjoy or beverage or dinner while you are there. You can also pick up your packets the morning of the race starting at 7:00 am.  

Awards: Awards will be given to the first and second place runners overall Male and Female. And to the top two in each age group; 14 & U, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 & over. Medals will be given to the 1k Fun Run finishers 13 & Under. An overall team award will be given to the fastest team (made up of 5). We will also present the Sprout Cup, a perpetual trophy to the team with the most registrations. Be sure to register for a team below. 

Post-Race Party: After the race Clyde's will treat runners to some great food and drinks. Stick around and enjoy a beautiful fall morning on Clyde's outdoor patio!  All registered participants will receive a free sandwich and beverage from Clyde’s. 

The Sprout 5k is being held to raise awareness for Sprout Therapeutic & Education Riding Center in Aldie, Virginia. Sprout is a non-profit organization that offers high-quality programming that meets the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of individuals with a wide variety of diagnoses to include Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Delay and Traumatic Brain Injuries, just to name a few.  Participants come from throughout Northern Virginia - Loudoun, Fairfax, Fauquier and Prince William counties. Sprout currently serves approximately 400 individuals per year with the devoted support of over 200 volunteers.  This work Sprout was recognized by Loudoun County Public Schools by naming Sprout a “Preferred Business Partner” and throughout our county as the “2012 Loudoun County VolunteerTeam of theYear.”

All proceeds from this race will go directly to Sprout so they can continue to provide quality services to clients with special needs, special programing, facility support, and the care and feeding of the therapy horses.
