South Lakes HS Band on the Run 5k

Presented by the South Lakes High School Band Boosters

Join us for the South Lakes Band on the Run 5k and Fun Run! This race starts and ends on the South Lakes High School (SLHS) track and will continue on the trails in beautiful South Reston. The race will benefit the SLHS band program.  Team and individual registrations are accepted for the 5k. A 1 mile Fun Run is available, each Fun Run participant who is 12 years of age or younger will earn a medal! Each preregistered runner will receive a commemorative short sleeve T-shirt with the Band on the Run 5k logo, designed by South Lakes HS student Kaitlin Soto. Band members from the South Lakes Pyramid schools will entertain runners on the course and at the start! There will be post-race food, entertainment and individual and team awards.

Race date and start time: April 25, 2015   8:30 a.m.

Prizes for Overall Winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Finishers) for Male and Females, Age Group Winners, and Teams (Best Musical Theme, Fastest Team, and Team with Most Members Registered prior to Packet Pickup). Age Group awards will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to male/female to the following age groups:  14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.

1k Fun Run for Kids - each particpant, 12 years of age and younger, receives a medal. 
 
Musical Entertainment throughout course

Ken Plum, Member, Virginia House of Delegates, 36th District will act as Master of Ceremonies

Registration Fees

5k Students (18 & Under) - $20.00 through race day

5k Adult - $30 through March 24, $35 March 25 - April 23, $40 Race Day

Fun Run - $15 through race Day (Must register with an adult. Children will receive a medal at the finish!) 

Online registration closes April 23, 8:00 p.m.

Friday, April 24, 5:30-8:30 p.m., South Lakes High School, under the covered walkway on stadium side of school

Saturday, April 25,  7-8 a.m. at South Lakes High School under the covered
walkway on the stadium side of the school

To avoid lines and a potential rush to the Start Line, we recommend you pick your race packet up on Friday night.
